What is the difference between the Steam and MyTrainz versions of Trainz

There are no differences in features between Steam and MyTrainz editions of Trainz; each will include all of the same features and functions for that version. There are, however, some differences for the Steam editions in regards to DLC packs, registration, and updating. DLC packs DLC packs purchased through Steam can only be used with the Steam editions of Trainz. DLC packs purchased through the Trainz Store can be used with any compatible version of Trainz, including Steam versions.
Registration Registration of the Steam editions is achieved by simply entering your MyTrainz account's username and password into the Internet tab of the Trainz Settings, which you can do by following these steps:
When you start Trainz, Trainz will then register itself into your account. Please note, you will not see any changes in your MyTrainz account's details after registering. The Steam edition of Trainz does not provide access to the digital download through MyTrainz.
Updates/Patches For updates and patches, these will be installed automatically through Steam. | |
