Error shows "Filepath occupied" when installing
Posted by N3V Games (Paul) on 28 July 2016 04:31 PM

When installing using either the online or offline installer, the following error message can appear.

It is likely if you get this error you have received the following message:
Warning: Target Folder Exists. This may lead to data loss.
Do you wish to continue?

These errors indicate that you are attempting to install a version of TANE into a folder that already has an installation.

Please select one of the following options to avoid this issue:

  • Use either the Online or Offline "Patch Installer" and NOT the Online or Offline "Installer" (use this option if you wish to keep your existing local data folder and update your existing build to the latest version)
  • Rename or delete your existing Trainz installation folder then retry the installer (e.g. rename C:\Program Files\N3V Games\Trainz A New Era to C:\Program Files\N3V Games\Trainz A New Era Old)
  • Install into a new location (leaving your current install intact)
