What does "Requires Internet Connection" mean for TANE?
Posted by N3V Games (Paul) on 31 July 2015 08:28 AM

Most versions of Trainz A New Era require an Internet connection at the time of install and can then be accessed without an Internet connection for up to 30 days. If you are offline for longer than that period, you will need to go online to gain authentication (this can be achieved with a mobile hotspot connection, or similar).

The exception to this rule is the Windows Deluxe Box version available from the Trainz Store (formerly which has an Offline Mode that never requires an internet connection (this option is not available for Mac).

Of course an Internet connection is required for Download Station access, multiplayer and for DLC authentication. Enabling the Offline Mode will disable any installed DLC packs, as well as Download Station, multiplayer, in-game chat, and online patch installer access.
